Rounded Rectangle: Text Box: Thanksgiving Holidays are upon us. This is one of my favorite times of the year to spend time with my family and friends. Let’s remember the ones not so fortunate as us. Always remember the troops in Iraq and all the troops around the world Text Box: that are paying the ultimate price to keep us safe and who can’t be with their families on the holidays. Have a great Turkey Holiday.
P.S. Have a safe holiday and don’t forget, I love pumpkin pie!!

First Grade FUN—First Graders have been busy working on short vowels, vocabulary words, and spelling.  We had a great time on our field trip to the Pumpkin Patch and to Athens Regional Park. We also enjoyed a visit from Kids on the Block who taught us about fire safety, healthy snacking, and accepting others.  We are looking forward to our upcoming field trip to the TN Valley Railroad Museum on December 7th.  We are excited about all of the fun learning activities we have planned for the upcoming holiday season.

Third grade finally was able to go on their first field trip!  Our other field trips were cancelled because of rain.  We are still trying to figure out who was doing the rain dance.  It is an unsolved mystery! J  The children enjoyed the Ocoee Corn Maze despite the cold weather.

Third graders have been working hard on three and four digit addition and subtraction, time, and money.  We are finally going to begin multiplication this week!  The kids are really excited to get started.  They can’t wait to learn this new skill.

We are looking forward to our next field trip on November 20th.  Third grade will be attending the play School House Rocks.  The children are learning a few songs from this play in Music class.

VETERAN’S  DAY

November 11

P.E.Place     In Physical Education class we are starting a basketball unit..  My primary goal is to focus on developing skills and how to perform these skills correctly. We are starting with the skill of passing.  This week we are working on how to correctly pass and catch a bounce pass, chest pass and overhead pass.  If you can work with your child on these skills or allow them to practice at home that would be a great way to help  them develop their skills.  Practice, practice, practice……they hear me say this all the time, but it will help your child improve in any area where they need help.  Next week we will start working on dribbling skills.  My goal is to create a positive atmosphere where all

students will achieve success and have fun.

During this unit we will be working on these skills:

Passing- bounce, chest, and overhead

Catching * Dribbling * Shooting

Offense and Defense ( 3rd & up)

Knowledge of game, history and rules of game play (mostly 3rd & up)

Fun and excitement (All)

*Also I have a student teacher, his name is Caleb Dawson (Coach Dawson) he will be with us until Christmas break.

Thank you!
