Rounded Rectangle: Text Box: “On the road again” has been the theme for 5th grade this six weeks.  We have been on two exciting field trips and have one more coming up this month on November 20, 2006.  The Challenger Space Center was an interactive field trip that was partially funded by an anonymous donor.  It was here that the children were challenged to work together on a mission to the moon.  We attended the Chattanooga Theatre on November 2nd, where we enjoyed “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” play.  
5th Grade proudly Text Box: welcomes baby Rafe Montgomery Cook. Mrs. Cook will be on maternity leave for the next 6 weeks.  Her students are very lucky to have Ms. Brandi Whaley as their intern teacher.  Ms. Whaley is attending Lee University and will graduate in December.  We would also like to say thank you to our parents for all of their support during this busy time.

Frequent hand washing
Cover mouth with tissue when sneezing or coughing; discard tissues after use
“Sneeze in the V” if a tissue is not available.  Sneezing or coughing into the bend of the arm/elbow prevents putting germs onto hands when immediate hand washing is not possible.

Text Box: important foundations to build on.  We also had a great time reading The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe over the past few weeks.  We enjoyed going to see the play at the Chattanooga Little Theater.  The actors did an incredible job. Text Box: We have survived another 6 weeks! The time goes by so fast. We are diligently working on multiplying.  We will begin multiplying by 3-4 digits in the upcoming weeks . Text Box: classes are busy learning about the first Thanksgiving and preparing Indian costumes to wear for Thanksgiving lunch.  We are looking forward to going to the Creative Discovery Museum and CiCi’s in Chattanooga on   Text Box: December 1st.  Grade cards will go home for the first time Nov. 10th, please sign and return it on Monday, Nov. 13th.  Our Kindergarten children have made wonderful progress!

class to participate in the game.  Lastly, 4th grade wants to say thanks to Mrs. Sally Russell for coming and painting Thanksgiving Turkeys with all of the 4th grade classes.  The students did a great job and the Turkeys turned out great!

Text Box: Plan to attend Oak Grove’s P.A.T. meetings, which have a short business meeting, entertainment by our students, and an information filled segment to help us be better parents. The Nov. parent class will be Goodies to Go (w/ nutrition filled snack bags), and in December we’ll have Cozy Up with a Good Book, at which we will have a new or gently used book give away, and a special guest will read to us.
